2022 CCACC Asian American Career Fair

Adhering to the concept of integrating resources and serving the community, the Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC) will continue promising the mission to hold its 8th Asian American Career Fair this year on Oct 15 from 12:30 to 5:30 pm, aiming to provide connection opportunities for employers and job seekers.

In response to the COVID situation, CCACC held its last Career Fair successfully through the virtual way. Despite the pandemic, the Career Fair last year was joined by major employers from semiconductor, high tech, manufacturing, medical, health, finance, academics, law enforcement, and federal, state, county, and local government agencies. These companies provided career advice and job interviews to community members seeing career movement through two workshops prior to the Career Fair. With the easement of the pandemic, CCACC decided to switch this annual event back to on-site, offering face-to-face opportunities for the best communication.

TOPIC: Immigration Law

Richard W. Chang is a partner at the law firm of Wasserman, Mancini & Chang, an "AV" rate firm that is also one of the oldest immigration law firms in the country. Richard W. Chang received his Juris Doctorate (JD) and his International Law Certificate at the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America. He co-founded the DC Chapter of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP-DC) in 1998. Richard was a contributing author for the Taiwan-AIT article in "The Visa Processing Guide" published by the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). His article titled, “Proper Invalidation Of A Labor Certification By DHS, DOL Or DOS” was published on August 7, 2008 by www.ilw.com. Richard has chaired various committees with AILA-DC over the past few years. He was ranked as one of the Top Northeast Lawyer's by Amtrak Arrive Magazine and AVVO in Nov/Dec 2011. Richard W. TOPIC: Effective Communication for Non-Native English Speakers

Dottie Li, Founder and CEO of TransPacific Communications, has extensive global expertise in cross-cultural communication and DEIA. Her path has taken her from China to the corridors of government, association and corporate power in Washington, D.C. She moved from broadcast and print journalism to work as a corporate spokesperson and public relations executive. Then to the White House, handling media advance assignments around the country and the world for presidential trips. After her White House service, she served as a communications chief for several large national and international nonprofit organizations. An important part of her mission with Transpacific Communications is helping to break down cultural barriers in the workplace, ensuring that talented individuals fulfill their promise. This simultaneously assists these government and private organizations to fulfill their mission by improving employee performance. Sharing her expertise in cross-cultural communications, Dottie Li is active in the community, serving as a Commissioner on the Maryland Governor's Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs and as a Board Member of the Governor's Wellmobile Program Advisory Board in Maryland. Dottie Li was recognized as one of "Maryland's Top 100 Women" in 2022, 2020 and 2015 for her "professional accomplishment, community leadership and mentoring" by The Daily Record. She was inducted into the prestigious Circle of Excellence as a 3-time winner. She was named a Mandarin Leader in America in 2018. She was awarded an “Outstanding Chinese American” by the Alliance Cultural Media, Inc. in 2016. She is the recipient of the “Best Cross- Cultural Communicator of the Year” in 2013 by the and Washington Maryland Minority Companies Association. She also testified in the House Small Business Committee as an 8(a) business owner. In addition, Dottie’s voice can be heard by millions as the Voice (and Voice Coach) of Rosetta Stone’s Mandarin products. She is a certified China business cultural awareness consultant and an in- demand keynote speaker. In addition to her devotion to cross-cultural communications, Dottie is an avid fitness enthusiast and has run 5Ks on several continents. TOPIC: Entrepreneurship

Chih-Hsiang Li, MSCE, PE, has been serving as the Executive Director of the Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC) on a full time volunteering base since 2012. During his tenure, Mr. expanded the services of CCACC Health Center and Community Services. He initiated the creation of In Home Care and CCACC Gallery. During the last two years, he completed the acquisition and integration of CCACC Academy and Quince Orchard Swim & Tennis Club. He retired in 2007 from AEPCO, Inc. where he served as the Executive Vice President for over twenty years. Before 2007, he also served as the Chairman and CEO of 3e Technologies International, Inc. (3eTI) and CEO of Decision Resource Group, Inc. He served on the faculty of Syracuse University (1975-1977) and University of Maryland (1979 – 1982). Mr. Li earned his B.S. degree in Architectural Engineering in 1968 from Tunghai University in Taiwan and he also attended Washington University and Carnegie-Mellon University for graduate studies.

Ned Li born in China during World War II; had elementary education in Hong Kong; attended high schools and college (physics major) in Taiwan; obtained graduate degrees (astronomy) at Univ. of Western Ontario, Canada and UCLA; have settled in Maryland since 1976. Worked as a soft engineer in nuclear power plant simulation at Singer Link (1976-1982) and as a program analyst in software development at IBM (1982-1998). Retired in 1998. Started in 1974 as a California real estate agent; have been a Real Estate Broker since moving to Maryland. Life journey - A “professional volunteer” Started as a volunteer in Chinese schools in 1981; helped to establish the non-profit organization Chinese Culture and Community Service Center, Inc (CCACC) in 1982; have been serving in CCACC and the community for last 40 years; currently serving as the Senior Advisor. TOPIC: Volunteerism

Yuchi Huang, Ph.D. earned MSs in Biophysics and Management and Ph.D. in Energy Engineering. He has published more than twenty research papers and book sections and received five patents. He is a retired VP of a publicly traded medical device manufacturer and a former MBA program professor. Currently, he serves on two Montgomery County committees. He also functions as board member, board treasurer, and board chair of several nonprofit organizations and a long-time volunteer for some other organizations. Having volunteered for most of his adult years, he is glad to continually be able to work toward a better world.
