The Atlanta mass shooting occurred on March 16 has brought fears to the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Communities. While the authority is still investigating the motivation, local governments and organizations responded immediately, speaking up and taking actions to keep AAPI communities safe.

Mr. Chih-Hsiang Li, the Executive Director of Chinese Culture and Service Center (CCACC), was invited to the meeting “Stand in Solidarity with AAPI”, hosted by County Executive and Councilmembers on March 19. He spoke up for AAPI communities, and declare the following statement:

- Our condolences and sympathies are with the family, friends, and communities of the victims;

- Applaud the strong voice and emotional rebuttal against racism hate;

- As a part of AAPI communities, we appreciate everything Montgomery County have done for us;

- CCACC management have communicated to our employees, our clients, and our members. We want them to take every precaution to protect themselves first, stay vigilant in their daily life, and most importantly, speak out when incident happens;

As one of Asian Communities Organization, CCACC called on coexist and harmony in diversity. We are all in this together, and use CCACC’ motto, “together we can”. With your help, we will overcome.
