Montgomery County health officials will relocate two drive-thru sites for free COVID-19 testing for the remainder of the week due to the extreme heat.

The drive-thru testing that normally takes place at the White Oak Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program or VEIP station on Tuesdays and Thursdays will move to the White Oak Community Recreation Center. The clinic is from 8 a.m. to noon and will be a walk-up site instead of a drive-thru site. The center is located at 1700 April Lane in the White Oak area.

Drive-thru testing that takes place at the County’s Amherst parking garage in Wheaton on Wednesdays and Fridays will move to the parking garage beneath the Wheaton Library and Community Recreation Center and will remain a drive-thru clinic. Testing hours are 8 a.m. to noon. The library is located at 11701 Georgia Avenue in Wheaton.

The pop-up clinic at the East County Recreation Center tomorrow from 2 to 6 p.m. will be held as scheduled. The Center is located at 3310 Gateshead Manor Way in Silver Spring.

Find out more about free testing clinics for COVID-19 and make an appointment on the County’s website at www.MoCoCOVIDTesting.org. While walk-ups are allowed, appointments are recommended to decrease waiting times.
