Your Health, Your Future — 2026 CCACC Health Fair Returns October 3

Good health is not only about seeing a doctor when we are sick. Prevention starts with understanding our health, identifying risks early, and knowing where to turn when we need help.
This fall, CCACC Health will once again bring healthcare professionals, community organizations, government agencies, and residents together at the 2026 CCACC Health Fair.

The Health Fair will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10 AM to 1 PM, at CCACC Health Center, 9298 Gaither Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20877.

Under this year's theme, “Your Health, Your Future,” community members can access health screenings, medical consultations, health education, community resources, and health insurance and benefit information.

On-site screenings are expected to include blood pressure, glucose, BMI, bone density, dental screening, fall prevention, and fatty liver screening. Healthcare professionals will also be available for consultations, while participating organizations will introduce a wide range of health and community resources.

The Health Fair Starts in September

This year, CCACC Health is extending the event through a Preventive Health Month during September.
From September 1–30, eligible individuals can register for free routine bloodwork. The program is intended primarily for uninsured patients and insured patients who do not have a primary care provider.
Testing may include glucose, lipid panel, complete blood count (CBC), liver function, and A1C for eligible patients with diabetes.
Eligible participants are encouraged to complete their bloodwork during September and keep their results. Those who later meet with an Internal Medicine/Primary Care physician at the October 3 Health Fair can bring a recent routine blood test report to make the consultation more useful.
A blood test, a blood pressure check, or a conversation with a healthcare professional may seem like a small step. But small steps can help us understand our health earlier and make better decisions for the future.

Part 2 | Medical Consultation: Bring Your Questions to Our Specialists

 

Have a Health Question? Talk With a Healthcare Professional

“Should I be concerned about my blood sugar?”
“What type of doctor should I see for my eye problem?”
“What can help an older family member with falls, cognition, or rehabilitation?”

Many people have health questions but are not sure where to start.

At the 2026 CCACC Health Fair on October 3, community members will have an opportunity to speak directly with healthcare professionals from a variety of specialties.
Current participating areas include Internal Medicine/Primary Care, Endocrinology, Retina/Ophthalmology, ENT, Psychiatry, Occupational Therapy, and Hearing and Speech Therapy.

Internal Medicine/Primary Care participants are encouraged to bring a routine blood test report from within the past year. Eligible individuals may also complete CCACC Health's September preventive bloodwork beforehand and bring their results.

These brief consultations are designed to provide education and guidance. They are not a substitute for a complete medical examination, diagnosis, or ongoing medical care. They can, however, help participants better understand their concerns and determine appropriate next steps.

Some specialist consultations require advance registration, and space is limited.

Part 3 | Health Exhibition: Discover the Resources Around You

 

Health Happens Beyond the Doctor's Office

Our health is influenced by much more than medical care.
At different stages of life, a family may need information about insurance, vaccinations, pharmacies, home care, children's health, disability services, environmental health, family safety, or government and community programs.
That is why the Health Exhibition is an important part of the 2026 CCACC Health Fair.
On October 3, representatives from healthcare organizations, government agencies, academic institutions, and community organizations will be available to answer questions, provide educational materials, and connect residents with useful services.

Participating organizations currently include Guardant Health, Georgetown University School of Medicine Dermatology Interest Group, Ultra Care Pharmacy, ClearCaptions, Chinese American Community Health Service, NIDDK Digestive Diseases Clinic, Montgomery County DHHS Disease Control & Immunization, Maryland Insurance Administration, Horizon Vascular Specialists, Montgomery County Family Justice Center, Pediatric Health Partners, A Plus Personal Home Care, Montgomery Perinatal Program, Jubilee Association of Maryland, Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection, Montgomery County Board of Elections, and others.

The list will continue to grow as additional organizations confirm participation.
We encourage visitors to come with questions. What resources are available for your family? Where can someone without insurance find help? What services support older adults, children, caregivers, or people living with chronic conditions?
You may be surprised by how many valuable resources are already available in our community.

 

Part 4 | Health Screening: Know Your Numbers, Know Your Risks

You Feel Fine. Why Get Screened?
That is exactly why preventive screening matters.
High blood pressure, diabetes, bone loss, and fatty liver disease can develop without obvious early symptoms. A simple screening cannot diagnose every condition, but it can identify potential risks and help people know when they should follow up with a healthcare professional.
 

At the October 3 CCACC Health Fair, planned on-site services include:
•   Blood Pressure Screening 
•   Glucose Screening 
•   BMI Assessment 
•   Bone Density Screening 
•   Dental Screening 
•   Fall Prevention/Risk Assessment 
•   Fatty Liver Screening 
•   Health Insurance & Benefit Information 

Many of these services are quick and convenient and do not require an appointment.
An abnormal screening result does not necessarily mean that you have a disease. Screening is intended to identify possible risk—not replace a medical diagnosis. Participants with concerning results can be encouraged to follow up with their primary care provider or an appropriate specialist.

And prevention begins even before the Health Fair: eligible community members can participate in CCACC Health's September Preventive Health Month bloodwork program.
