The liver and gallbladder are essential organs that play critical roles in digestion, metabolism, and overall health. However, many liver and gallbladder conditions develop silently and may not present noticeable symptoms in their early stages. By the time discomfort or other symptoms appear, the disease may have already progressed significantly. To help raise awareness of liver and gallbladder health within the community, CCACC Health Center will host a free virtual health talk "Common Liver Diseases and Preventive Care," on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Community members are warmly invited to attend.
The health talk will feature Dr. Mo-Ping Chow, as the main speaker. Dr. Chow will provide an easy-to-understand overview of the functions of the liver and gallbladder and explain their importance in maintaining overall health. He will also discuss several common liver and gallbladder conditions, including fatty liver disease, hepatitis B and C, alcohol-related liver disease, gallstones, cholecystitis, and bile duct obstruction. Participants will gain a better understanding of the risk factors, symptoms, and treatment options associated with these conditions.
In addition to discussing common diseases, Dr. Chow will share practical strategies for maintaining liver and gallbladder health in everyday life. Topics will include the importance of a balanced diet, regular physical activity, limiting alcohol consumption, and receiving routine health screenings. These preventive measures can help individuals develop healthier lifestyles and reduce their risk of liver and gallbladder disease.
CCACC Health Center hopes this seminar will encourage community members to take a more proactive approach to liver and gallbladder health by increasing awareness, promoting early detection, and emphasizing disease prevention. Through education and preventive care, individuals can better safeguard their own health and the well-being of their families.
The seminar will be conducted online and is free and open to the public. Those interested are encouraged to register in advance and join us in learning valuable information about liver and gallbladder health.
