On Sunday, May 17, 2026, the CCACC Health Center successfully hosted its 4th Annual Charity Pickleball Tournament at CCACC Sports. This year's event was organized in support of the PROMISE Program, raising funds for services benefiting children with special needs in the community. Through this charitable initiative, CCACC Health Center hoped to bring greater support and encouragement to more families in need.
Since its founding in 2022, the Charity Pickleball Tournament had become one of the CCACC Health Center's signature annual fundraising events. This year's tournament was jointly organized by CCACC Health Center and CCACC Sports, and was led by former CCACC Board Member Charles Chen and current Board Member Terry Hsiao, whose efforts helped unite community members in support of a meaningful cause.
Community Members Gathered on the Court
Although rainy weather persisted throughout the day, the indoor bubble courts at CCACC Sports remained fully operational, providing participants with a stable and comfortable playing environment and allowing the tournament to proceed smoothly without interruption.
Notably, Mr. Charles Chen and Mr. Phil Zen, Deputy Director of CCACC Sports, personally formed a team named "Soo Love" to participate in the competition. Board Member Terry Hsiao and Timothy Chi also led teams in the tournament. Mr. Chih-Hsiang Li, Director of CCACC Sports and CCACC Co-founder, attended the event in person as well. Mr. Steve Chen, President of the Chien Kuo High School Alumni Association, once again showed his enthusiastic support by participating in the event. Throughout the tournament, both new and longtime friends gathered together, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.
Before the matches began, Kate Lu, Director of CCACC Health Center, delivered opening remarks, briefly introducing the CCACC Health Center's long-standing commitment to community-based healthcare services and the mission of the PROMISE Program. She also expressed sincere gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and sponsors for their generous support.
Intense and Exciting Competition
The tournament officially began shortly afterward. A total of 16 teams competed this year and were divided into Advanced and Beginner divisions based on playing experience.
After multiple rounds of exciting competition, the Advanced Division championship was awarded to the CCACC Evergreen Pickleball Team No. 1, represented by Mr. Steve Liu and Mr. Sam Li. The W Team, consisting of Mr. Will Wu and Mr. Eric Wu, earned second place, while the MiPo Team, represented by Ms. Michelle Liu and Ms. Po Wang, placed third.
In the Beginner Division, the Alice & David Team, consisting of Ms. Alice Chen and Mr. David Huang, won the championship title. The Soo Love Team, represented by Mr. Charles Chen and Mr. Phil Zen, earned second place, while the L&A Team, consisting of Ms. Lisa Lorraine and Mr. Auden Siegel, finished in third place.
About the PROMISE Program
The PROMISE Program was jointly established by a team of special education specialists from the University of Maryland, CCACC Health Center, and Speech Garden. The program is dedicated to providing structured social skills training for children with developmental delays and special needs, while also offering parents professional support in caregiving strategies, resource navigation, and advocacy services.
CCACC Health Center emphasized that children with special needs and their families require ongoing support and attention from the broader community. Only through mutual care and collaboration can a more inclusive and compassionate environment be created—one in which every child is empowered to reach their full potential and shine.
Appreciation for Community Support
The successful organization of this event would not have been possible without the generous support of many dedicated sponsors and donors.
CCACC Health Center first extends its sincere gratitude to Platinum Sponsor George C. Cabalu, Senior Managing Director & Financial Advisor at Seventy2 Capital Wealth Management. The organizer would also like to extend special thanks to another Platinum Sponsor, Theodore A. Schwab, Founding Partner of Steward Partners Global Advisory and a longtime supporter of CCACC Health Center. Mr. Schwab has consistently supported the Health Center's mission and dedication to serving local residents.

In addition, CCACC Health Center sincerely thanks Gold Sponsor Mr. David Trone, former U.S. Congressman, as well as Silver Sponsors Mr. Charles Chen and Ms. Gina Chen, and Mr. Shengting Pan for their generous contributions.
Special appreciation is also extended to Mo-Ping Chow, CCACC Board Member and volunteer physician at CCACC Health Center, and his wife Ms. Tai-Hui Chow for their charitable donation, as well as Ms. Yeh-Fong Chen and Ms. Sophie Shih for their generous support.
Building a Caring Future Together
CCACC Health Center extends its heartfelt gratitude to all donors, volunteers, and tournament participants whose kindness and dedication made this event possible. We look forward to continuing to unite the strength of the community in the future to promote compassion, support families in need, and create a brighter future for all.
