To celebrate the 2026 Year of the Horse, the Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC), through its CCACC Community Services, was invited by Kentlands Manor Senior Apartments to host a warm and festive Lunar New Year celebration on the morning of March 12 in the apartment lobby, bringing residents a joyful holiday atmosphere and heartfelt New Year wishes.

Located in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Kentlands Manor offered a convenient location and an elegant, pleasant environment. It was a residential community designed specifically for seniors aged 62 and above. Several months earlier, Assistant Property Manager Ms. Xingdai Ding had reached out to CCACC, hoping to bring Lunar New Year performances to the residents and add festive joy to the season. In response, CCACC carefully planned a diverse and engaging cultural program.

The event was hosted by Ms. Chiao-Chiao Liu (Director of CCACC Community Services), who also delivered opening remarks. The program featured a variety of performances, including a solo dragon dance to open the show, instrumental performances such as electronic wind instrument and erhu duet, as well as classical dance and square dance. The event not only showcased the charm of traditional culture, but also strengthened the connection between the community and its senior residents. Mike Mathis, Property Manager of Kentlands Manor, also presented CCACC with a finely crafted porcelain horse as a special gift. CCACC sincerely appreciated the warm invitation from Kentlands Manor and looked forward to more opportunities in the future to bring joy and care to the community.
