Registration for Gaithersburg's popular summer camp and clinic programs, held in convenient locations throughout the City, opens on February 11 for City of Gaithersburg residents. Open registration starts February 18. The primary goal of Gaithersburg Summer Camp programs is to offer a safe and positive environment for campers to develop social and physical skills and self-confidence and to just have fun.

Most camps begin the fourth week of June and operate in convenient one-week sessions that provide flexibility for summer family adventures. This summer's offerings also include kindergarten programs and specialty camps in sports, dance, visual and performing arts, STEM, and skateboarding for youth and teens. Explore all programs at https://gburg.md/SummerCamps.

Register online at www.gaithersburgmd.gov/recxpress or in person at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, 506 S. Frederick Ave., next to Gaithersburg High School.

Please note that the full field trip schedule for the 2026 camp season has not yet been confirmed, but most campers will swim twice a week at the Gaithersburg Water Park. Camp locations and dates may also be subject to change depending on various factors such as school closings due to snow days or MCPS summer school programs. Visit the summer camp webpage for updates at https://gburg.md/SummerCamps.

The City of Gaithersburg is committed to making reasonable accommodations as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act. To prepare for the potential needs of all our campers, requests must be made by May 15 by emailing SummerCamps@gaithersburgMD.gov.

Summer Camps Job, Volunteer & Internship Opportunities

An engaging volunteer and workforce development program is available for high school ages to assist in the City's summer programs. Youth must apply and undergo an interview process to be selected as a volunteer or intern.

The City is also seeking qualified applicants ages 18 and older to work during the summer. Applicants must enjoy working with young people and be talented in arts, music and/or sports. Job openings are posted on the Job Opportunities page on the City's website at www.gaithersburgMD.gov.

Summer Opportunities Fair will be held on March 4 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a range of volunteer, internship, and paid summer employment opportunities within the City of Gaithersburg.
