CCACC Health Center will host a six-week free online Chronic Pain Self-Management Workshop from March 12 through April 16, 2026, held every Thursday from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM. The workshop will be conducted in English. Through carefully designed, interactive sessions, participants will learn practical skills to effectively manage and reduce the challenges associated with chronic pain.
Whether you are newly coping with chronic pain or have been living with it for many years, this workshop will provide useful strategies and support to help improve your overall quality of life.
In modern society, chronic pain has become a part of many people's daily lives, significantly affecting routines and overall well-being. Chronic pain may arise from work-related stress, long-term health conditions, or other factors, often causing persistent discomfort that impacts not only physical health but also emotional and mental wellness over time.
During the workshop, participants will learn how to relieve pain through lifestyle adjustments, improved nutrition, and appropriate physical activity, while also practicing simple and effective relaxation techniques. Additional topics include sleep management, emotional support, and medication use, helping participants maintain physical and mental balance and develop sustainable, proactive pain management skills for daily life.
Eligibility and Registration Requirements
Individuals currently experiencing chronic pain, as well as family members and caregivers who support someone with chronic pain, are welcome to register. Participants are expected to meet the following requirements:
Chronic pain should not become a "normal" part of life. This workshop aims to help participants discover new directions in managing pain. CCACC Health Center warmly invites you to join us as we work together toward a healthier life.
Program Overview
The Chronic Pain Self-Management Program (CPSMP) is an evidence-based health promotion program developed by Stanford University. It is designed to help individuals with chronic health conditions strengthen their self-management skills. The program uses a highly interactive, group-based learning model that encourages peer support while building participants' confidence and practical ability to manage chronic pain effectively.
This workshop and related activities are funded by the Asian American Health Initiative (AAHI), Office of Community Affairs, Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services.
