The Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC) Adult Day Healthcare Center (ADHC) held a heartwarming "New Year Karaoke Celebration" Elders gathered to bid farewell to the old year and welcome 2026 with melodious songs. The event was emceed by Ms. Shu Wah Lin.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Lin expressed gratitude to everyone for coming together to celebrate the new year. She noted that many elders had practiced their singing diligently, and more importantly, that through music, they were able to connect emotionally and build deep and genuine friendships. She expressed hope that the singing would allow the elders to express their feelings, reminisce about their youthful days, and share joy and heartfelt moments through music. Following this, Mr. Ned Li, Director of ADHC, addressed the audience, encouraging the elders to actively participate in the center's activities to enrich their daily lives.
The day's program featured a diverse and engaging lineup, including solo female performances, traditional and folk songs, and opera pieces. Staff from the ADHC Activities Team performed a group rendition of "Tomorrow Will Be Better." Elder family member Mr. Wei Ming Wang gave a solo performance of two popular songs, accompanied by ADHC volunteer Mr. Wei Wu on guitar. Mr. Runkun Gao, Facility Specialist, performed the Cantonese pop song "Friends." The event concluded with a staff group performance of the classic "Unforgettable Tonight."
ADHC hopes that through such events, elders not only experience the vitality of youth and the charm of music, but also feel the warmth and care of a home-like environment. In addition to providing nutritious meals and professional healthcare services, the center continues to offer a wide variety of activities, working hand-in-hand with elders to create a fulfilling and vibrant senior lifestyle.
