Gaithersburg's Holiday Giving Program proudly celebrated its 27th year by serving children ages 1 to 17 identified as needing holiday support. Thanks to the generosity and strong partnership between the City of Gaithersburg, local businesses, congregations, and community members, 1,400 children were supported.

The 2025 Holiday Giving event was held on December 13 at The Carnegie Washingtonian Center, a platinum sponsor of this year's program. More than 450 people attended, enjoying hot cocoa and cider, cookies, and a visit from Santa. Parents received a $25 gift card for each of their children and were able to take home winter hats, scarves, and gloves, books, crafts projects, and other gift items.

The Holiday Giving program depends entirely on sponsorships and donations from the community and the support of volunteers to assist families in need who are referred by schools and social service organizations.

"Every child deserves to experience the joy of receiving a gift during the holiday season, and thanks to the generosity of our donors and sponsors, we were able to make that happen for 1,400 children," said Community Services Division Manager Renee Nicolosi. "The Holiday Giving Program allows us to share love, warm wishes, and the spirit of the season by providing gift cards to families. A heartfelt thank you to all our sponsors and donors. Together, we've helped make the season brighter for many Gaithersburg families."

Sponsors for the Gaithersburg Holiday Giving program include: The Carnegie at Washingtonian Center and an anonymous sponsor (Platinum Champions), A. Maizel Electric, McNair Insurance Group, and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (Gold Supporters), MCON Construction and Building Services, Nymeo Federal Credit Union, and Touchless Car Wash (Silver Heroes), Grace United Methodist Church, Lisa Henderson, Matthew Hopkins, Stephanie Austin and Tanisha Briley (Bronze Givers), and many individual donors.

Carnegie residents and associates generously volunteered their time to make the event special.

Gaithersburg's Community Services Division extends its thanks to the sponsors, donors and volunteers that made this program possible. To learn more please contact the Gaithersburg Community Services Division at 301-258-6395 or visit www.gburg.md/giving.
