This past Thanksgiving, in order to celebrate, the Chinese American Parent Association of Montgomery County (CAPA-MC)'s Run and Hit Tennis Club (RHTC), in partnership with CCACC Sports, successfully hosted its Fourth Annual Thanksgiving Family Doubles Tournament.

RHTC's mission has always been to spread a love for tennis throughout the community — and nothing brings a family together quite like a heated doubles match. Over two days of match play, pairs of siblings, parents, and children bonded through healthy, exciting competition as they battled for first place. Especially during Thanksgiving, we are reminded to cherish our loved ones. It was heartwarming to see so many families playing, strategizing, and working hard together on the court.

This annual tournament was held with the support of the Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC), which provided indoor courts at CCACC Sports. Many important guests attended the opening ceremony, including Mr. Chih-Hsiang Li, CCACC Co-founder & Director of CCACC Sports; Mr. Phil Zen, Deputy Director of CCACC Sports; and Ms. Julie Yang, Montgomery County Board of Education President, who presented special certificates of recognition from the Board of Education to the winning players and also presented a certificate of commendation to CCACC, adding significance and honor to the event.

The Thanksgiving Family Doubles Tournament sign-up has always been free, but RHTC is grateful for any donations. This year, contributions supported both RHTC’s future volunteer-run hitting sessions and community tournaments, as well as CCACC Health Center’s Pan Asian Volunteer Health Clinic. We witnessed some fantastic tennis this past weekend, and we look forward to seeing both new and returning players next Thanksgiving!
