On May 15, Mr. Dong-Hee Min, Executive Director of the Welfare Bureau of Daejeon Metropolitan City, South Korea, visited the Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC). Accompanied by Dr. Patrice McGhee, Chief of Aging & Disability Services, and Dr. Kimberly Y. Johnson, Director of the Area Agency on Aging from the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Mr. Min was joined by DHHS staff members and Ms. Hyunsook Choi, President of the Korean American Association of the State of Maryland, who served as interpreter.
The visit focused on learning about the CCACC Adult Day Healthcare Center (ADHC) and its holistic approach to senior care. The delegation toured the facility, gaining a comprehensive understanding of its operations, which include transportation, nutrition, medical consultations, and enrichment programs designed to support the physical and emotional well-being of seniors.
The group was warmly welcomed by Rita S. Lewi, Executive Director of CCACC; Chih-Hsiang Li, CCACC co-founder & current Director of CCACC Sports and Jerry Wang, Deputy Director of CCACC ADHC. During the tour, Director Li provided a detailed introduction to ADHC's structure, while E.D. Lewi offered insights into CCACC's development and community impact. The visit also included a stop at the CCACC Art Gallery, where guests explored the ongoing exhibition "Vitality in Ink" and enjoyed the center's unique artistic environment.
Following the visit, Montgomery County DHHS expressed formal appreciation for CCACC's hospitality and praised its contributions to community services and senior care.
