Medical Front Desk Receptionist
Job Summary:
Support scheduling operations and assist patients in overcoming barriers to accessing healthcare services.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome and greet all patients and visitors in person or by phone;
- Answer incoming calls professionally and courteously using proper phone etiquette;
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area;
- Register new patients and update information for existing patients, including personal and financial details;
- Facilitate patient flow by notifying providers of arrivals, monitoring delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff;
- Respond to patient and visitor inquiries in a courteous and helpful manner;
- Manage medical office inventory, anticipate supply needs, place orders, and monitor equipment;
- Ensure patient confidentiality by securing protected health information (PHI) and properly logging off computers.
Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Proficient computer and data entry skills;
- Flexible and adaptable with job responsibilities;
- Preferred background in public health, social work, or medical service settings;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on empathy and cultural sensitivity;
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team;
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems;
- Bilingual skills are preferred but not required, depending on patient demographics.
Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Job Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide high-quality primary and preventive care at CCACC Health Center, serving the diverse and underserved populations of Montgomery County.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and screenings;
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and respiratory illnesses;
- Develop and implement treatment plans focused on accessible and affordable care;
- Prescribe medications and therapies within scope of practice;
- Educate patients on chronic disease management, preventive care, and healthy lifestyles;
- Refer patients to specialists and community resources as needed;
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care;
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the EMR system;
- Participate in community outreach activities such as health fairs and educational workshops;
- Stay informed about public health trends and resources available to low-income populations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner;
- Master's degree in Nursing, with a focus on Family, Adult, or Community Health;
- Active Maryland NP license and national certification (e.g., FNP, ANP);
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience in primary care or community health, especially with underserved populations;
- Understanding of healthcare disparities and social determinants of health in economically disadvantaged communities;
- Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on empathy and cultural competence;
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team;
- Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems;
- Bilingual skills are preferred but not required, based on patient needs;
Salary is negotiable and will be based on qualifications and experience;
