The "International Exhibition of Children's Paintings" Maryland Tour, themed "From Mountains to Rivers, One World," was successfully held on March 23 at the CCACC Academy. This exhibition encouraged children to express their unique understanding of nature and home through art, showcasing the beauty of the world as seen through their eyes. A total of 100 outstanding works from 18 countries and regions were displayed.

Depicting "From Mountains to Rivers, One World" Through Art

The exhibition was organized by CCACC Academy in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Representative Office in China (FAO China), China Evening News Photography Society, China Beijing Laoshe Art and Culture Foundation, and the exhibition's Organizing Committee. Continuing the overarching theme of "The World is So Big, My Beautiful Home," the 2025 theme, "From Mountains to Rivers, One World," aimed to inspire children to depict the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature through art.

Over the past decade, the International Exhibition of Children's Paintings has toured globally, holding more than 50 exhibitions and attracting the enthusiastic participation of over one million children and families. This year, 100 selected works from over 4,000 submissions were showcased in Maryland, where children from diverse cultural backgrounds came together through art to illustrate their vision of mountains and rivers.

A Warm and Wonderful Opening Ceremony

At the beginning of the event, the exhibition was unveiled with the vibrant sounds of Chinese drums. Hosts Nancy Stevenson and Sabrina Yu took the stage to warmly welcome the guests in attendance.

Notably, the International Exhibition of Children's Paintings creates a charity-themed song every year to spread love and hope through music. This year's theme song, "Let Green Dreams Fly," was performed by Brooklyn Ma, calling for everyone to join together to protect the earth. Following the performance, children from Rockville Chinese School performed two lively and playful dances, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.

After the performances, Avery Wan (Principal & Operating Director) took the stage to deliver a speech, expressing gratitude to the guests and the exhibition's organizing committee. She shared that CCACC Academy is dedicated to providing high-quality education for K-5 students and expressed her honor in hosting the International Exhibition of Children's Paintings.

Next, the exhibition's organizing committee introduced the background and significance of the exhibition to the audience and sincerely invited Maryland children to actively participate in next year's exhibition. To encourage the children's artistic exploration, the committee presented Participant Certificates and Little Cultural Ambassador Certificates to the participating children.

Finally, Rita S. Lewi (Executive Director of CCACC) presented a commemorative gift to the committee as a token of appreciation and support for the exhibition.

Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony with Distinguished Guests

The exhibition received strong support from the Maryland state government and Montgomery County government. During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich presented an honorary certificate to the exhibition's organizing committee, recognizing its significant contribution to promoting international children's art exchanges. Amidst enthusiastic applause, the guests collectively cut the red ribbon, symbolizing the support and expectations from all sectors of society for children's art. At the end of the event, the organizing committee specially prepared silk scarves printed with the children's artwork for the guests.

Distinguished guests in attendance included: Marc Elrich (County Executive), Christina W. Poy (Administrative Director of the Governor's Office of Community Initiatives), Alanna Lee (Commissioner of the Governor's Office of Community Initiatives), Lily Qi (Maryland State Delegate), Greg Wims (Maryland State Delegate), Sidney Katz (Montgomery County Councilmember), Laurie-Anne Sayles (Montgomery County Councilmember), Rita S. Painting the Future with a Brush

As a purely charitable event, the International Exhibition of Children's Paintings is not only a platform for children to showcase their talents but also a bridge that connects hearts. Over the past ten years, thousands of children have used their brushes to express their understanding of the world, allowing cultures to blend through their artwork.

Looking ahead, we hope more children will join in, using art to transcend language and paint the warmth and beauty of the world. Let's meet again next year!
