Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC) Youth Dragon Dance Team was invited to participate in the Lunar New Year Parade hosted by the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA) in Chinatown. This annual grand event featured over 60 participating groups, yet only six teams were selected to perform on stage. Among them, the CCACC Youth Dragon Dance Team stood out as the only youth team honored with an invitation to perform.
On February 2, the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, Chiao-Chiao Liu (Director of CCACC Community Services) and her team led the Youth Dragon Dance Team, departing from CCACC at 11:30 AM. Ned Li (CCACC Co-founder & Director of CCACC Adult Day Healthcare Center) later joined the team in Chinatown. Upon arrival at the designated parade location, the young performers eagerly joined the procession. The streets were filled with enthusiastic spectators, with waves of applause and cheers creating an electrifying atmosphere.
Following the parade, the team gathered in front of the stage, eagerly awaiting their grand finale performance. With seamless coordination, the team members wielded the golden dragon, leaping and twirling with energy, vividly showcasing the power and spirit of the dragon. Their performance was met with thunderous applause. In recognition of their outstanding display, our youth dragon dance team members each received a red envelope personally presented by the CCBA president and distinguished guests—a prestigious honor and a testament to their hard work and dedication.
As the celebration reached its climax with the sounds of firecrackers and fireworks, the event concluded successfully after 5 PM.
It is worth mentioning that since January 25, 2025, the CCACC Youth Dragon Dance Team has been performing continuously for the center's Lunar New Year celebrations. Their final performance will take place on February 8, marking a festive conclusion to CCACC's Lunar New Year and Lantern Festival celebrations.
