1.17.25 Open Call for Filmmakers to Submit to First Annual Film Festival

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (January 17, 2025) Registration is open for the City of Gaithersburg's first annual Gaithersburg Film Festival, celebrating the City's rich diversity. The festival invites diverse creators and communities to share their stories, traditions, and artistic expressions through film. The film festival takes place April 25 through 27 at the Arts Barn, 311 Kent Square Road.

Gaithersburg has earned recognition as one of the most diverse cities in the United States, and this festival reflects that spirit by promoting a vibrant array of cultures, identities, and perspectives. By highlighting a variety of voices and celebrating cultural differences, the Gaithersburg Film Festival aims to:

  1. Foster inclusivity and representation in the arts.
  2. Raise awareness about pressing social and cultural issues.
  3. Encourage dialogue and cross-cultural understanding.

Regular registration deadline is January 30; late deadline is February 28. Student fee is $5, regular registration Fee is $10, and late registration fee is $15 (January 30 - February 28).
