9.11.24 Become an Application Counselor Program

The application counselor program aims to help Maryland residents understand their health insurance options and complete the enrollment process. Counselors provide free, unbiased assistance to ensure individuals can make informed decisions about their health coverage through Maryland Health Connection.

Eligibility and Duration

The application counselor program is free and open to various organizations and community groups interested in offering this valuable service. The program is a two-year term and may be renewed for an additional two years.

Training and Support

The Maryland Health Benefit Exchange offers free onboarding and ongoing training for application counselors to equip them with the necessary knowledge and tools. This includes understanding different health plans, eligibility criteria, and the enrollment application process. We will train as many application counselors as you would like at no cost.
