As a Chinese non-profit organization in Greater Washington, CCACC's vigorous development is evident to all. The effectiveness of the board's commitment to strategic direction and vision planning is also well-known. Recently, CCACC's board of directors completed its biennial election, with six of the fifteen board members being new additions. The new Chairman is Dr. Yuchi Huang, a CCACC senior volunteer, and the new Vice Chairwoman is Ms. Chang Zhao, also a CCACC volunteer.

New Chairman: Dr. Yuchi Huang

Yuchi Huang, Ph.D., earned MS' in Biophysics and Management and a Ph.D. in Energy Engineering. He has published over twenty research papers and book sections and received five patents. He was an MBA program professor and a VP of a publicly traded medical devices company responsible for product development, manufacturing, and services. He is also a volunteer for over 40 years.

Dr. Huang started to have fun with friends at CCACC in 1992. Hooked by so much joy and meaning, he has stayed around ever since, running errands, going on parades, singing along, dancing along, donning up as Santa, operating newsletter stencil mimeograph machine, setting up/tearing down venues, manning A/V systems, drafting articles, standing in for interpreters, moderating panel discussions, ……whatever happened to need helping hands. Along the way, he has also answered the calls for CCACC Executive Director, Board Member, Treasurer, Board Chairman, Senior Advisor…... In a nutshell, he is just one of the CCACC believers and long-time, happy, committed volunteers.

Besides CCACC, Dr. Huang serves on two Montgomery County government committees. He also volunteers for other nonprofit organizations and serves on the boards of some of those organizations.

Dr. Huang is very interested in the complementary nature of the cultures of the East and West and the unity of the guiding principles related to matter, humans, and the universe (consilience). One of the questions he tries to answer frequently is: What can I and friends do and have done for the betterment of the community and civility by fusing and expanding the best of the traditional and contemporary pearls of wisdom of the East and West?

He said, CCACC is like a big family; warm, full of fun, and plenty of chores. Whatever makes your heart tick, why not come check out all those CCACC attractions? If ever hooked, you won't be short of good companies.
