ASHIYANAA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving people of South Asian heritage. We were established in 1989 to serve women and children impacted by domestic violence. Our mission is to empower South Asians to lead peaceful lives with dignity, hope, and self-sufficiency by providing comprehensive and culturally-sensitive services. Our work is guided and informed by our core values: Hope, Open-mindedness,
eMpowerment, Equality. In 2018, we expanded to serve South Asian seniors and caregivers. We have 5 main programs that provide culturally competent services:

POSITION OVERVIEW

Ashiyanaa seeks an Executive Director who will oversee the administration, programs, and overall development of the organization. This is an exempt, full-time permanent position, and reports to the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker dedicated to expanding Ashiyanaa's impact in the Washington metropolitan area, have passion for the Organization's mission, and demonstrated nonprofit management experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and oversee Ashiyanaa's administration, fiscal management, supervision of staff and volunteers including alignment of duties and responsibilities within all programs to meet the organization's needs and objectives. Serve as the chief spokesperson of Ashiyanaa through strategic community relations & communication, media appearances, monthly newsletters, annual reports, and promote a positive organizational image through education of local governments and advocacy on behalf of the populations served.

QUALIFICATIONS
Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed. Masters Degree in Nonprofit Management or similar, with at least 5 years of management experience. Ashiyanaa is seeking a candidate with proven leadership and relationship management experience; track record of effectively leading a performance- and outcomes-based organization and staff; ability to point to specific examples of having developed and implemented strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth. Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget. Strong community and public relations, marketing, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a diverse group of people and cultures. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Past success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary commensurate with education, experience, and past performance. The salary range for this position is between $110,000 - $125,000. Benefits
include paid vacation and federal holidays.
WORK LOCATION: 3 days a week in person at the office.
