The Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC) has donated 1,000 protective masks to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and another 1,000 to Suburban Hospital in an effort to aid local hospitals emergency centers that have been facing a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE). The CCACC is committed to supporting the state of Maryland front line health care professionals that are working tirelessly during this time of national crisis.

The CCACC had planned to close all offices before Governor Hogan issued an executive order last week to close all senior activity centers due to the dramatic rise of COVID-19 positive cases in the state. One of the CCACCs core responsibilities to the community is to provide safety for its seniors and will continue to serve as a support network. The CCACC has continued to provide service to seniors ‘remotely’. Due to the closure of the center, the CCACC has excess protective masks ready for donation.

Two volunteer physicians of the CCACC Pan Asian Volunteer Health Clinic (PAVHC) has been at the forefront in lending a hand to local community hospitals. Dr. Yaoyao Zhu and Dr. QiuFang Cheng, have been contributing to the relief efforts by visiting hospitals with donations. Currently, CCACC PAVHC has a COVID-19 Information Line (301-798-6001) to provide information and answer questions about COVID-19.
