3.8.2024 Tax-aide from AARP

I wanted to share information about a resource being offered by the AARP Tax-Aide program. Free tax preparation services are once again being provided across Montgomery County, by appointment only. There are no income or age qualifications to receive services, but special attention is paid to low-moderate-income taxpayers and Seniors.

I will warn you that there are some limitations to language accessibility this year, as this is a volunteer-run program hosted by the AARP Foundation. I’m hoping that in the coming years I can support better access to multiple languages at each site. Currently, the Germantown Library (on Mondays) and Damascus Library sites have access to the IRS-provided language line and can provide services in any language. Additionally, White Oak Community Center is equipped to handle appointments in Spanish. Appointments can be made by calling 240-777-2577 or online at www.taxaidemc.info
