1.18.2024 Professional Women's Charity Tennis Tournament Supports CCACC Health Center

At the initiative of Dr. Yvette Yuxia Jia, a volunteer physician at CCACC Health Center (Pan Asian Volunteer Health Clinic), a group of dedicated and confident professional women gathered at the CCACC Sports Center on December 27, 2023, to engage in an intense charity tennis tournament. The purpose of this event was to raise funds for low-income patients at CCACC Health Center, aiming to cover the costs of disease screenings and bringing a touch of warmth to this cold season.

 

The charity tennis fundraising event was led by Dr. Jia, with participation from over 20 professional women with various professional backgrounds, including healthcare professionals, lawyers, government employees, and entrepreneurs. Dr. Jia's family members also participated in organizing and providing service during the event, supporting community healthcare through this initiative. Dr. Jia has been actively involved in philanthropy, dedicating many years to volunteering at CCACC Health Center for charity clinics and health events. She consistently promotes the center's services at every opportunity, contributing to the center's expansion and influence.

 

In addition to her commitment to healthcare, Dr. Jia is also a tennis enthusiast. Her passion and approachable nature have led her to forge friendships with people from diverse ethnicities and professions on the tennis court. Amidst their busy schedules, they often gather at the community tennis courts to improve their tennis skills and frequently organize charity fundraising events through tennis, collectively contributing to charitable causes.

 

Before the start of the event, organizer Dr. Yvette Yuxia Jia introduced the remarkable work of CCACC Health Center and its longstanding contributions to low-income patients over the years. During the tournament, each participant showcased their athletic talents, and every swing of the racket conveyed their support for charitable causes. At the end of the event, the participants, along with Dr. Yao-Yao Zhu, the medical director at CCACC Health Center, her family, and the Director of CCACC Health Center, Huixing (Kate) Lu, enjoyed a networking lunch together. In this event, everyone contributed to the charitable endeavors of CCACC Sports Center through their passion and actions. A special thanks to Mr. Phil Zen, the director of CCACC Sports Center, for providing the venue and support for the tournament.

 

The participants of this professional women's charity tennis tournament generously contributed, raising a total of approximately $1,500 USD. Through their actions, they demonstrated care and responsibility, bringing warmth and concern to the low-income community during the holiday season.
