GAITHERSBURG, Md. (September 1, 2023) The Gaithersburg Arts Barn is pleased to announce its 2023 - 2024 concert season, which kicks off with a headlining concert and arts fundraiser and reception featuring world-renowned pianist Brian Ganz on September 9. The evening starts off with a special reception at 6:30 p.m. followed by the concert at 8 p.m. Enjoy hors d'oeuvres and desserts by French bistro Laperaux and wine followed by an intimate concert of incredible music featuring an all-Chopin program. The concert will include special requests (music by Chopin) from the audience.
Widely regarded as one of the leading pianists of his generation, Brian Ganz has made it his mission to join vivid music making with warmth and intimacy onstage to produce a new kind of listening experience, in which great works come to life with authentic emotional power.
Ticket purchase for this one-of-a-kind event will contribute to the purchase of a new concert piano and expanded music programming for the Gaithersburg community as part of the Arts Barn Legacy Campaign. The 2023 - 2024 concert season marks the 21st anniversary of the opening of the Arts Barn, the City of Gaithersburg's home for the performing and visual arts. Located at 311 Kent Square Road, the Arts Barn houses a 99-seat theatre in a charmingly renovated Victorian-era stable. Brian Ganz is a laureate of the Marguerite Long Jacques Thibaud and the Queen Elisabeth of Belgium International Piano Competitions. He has appeared as a soloist with such orchestras as the St. Louis Symphony, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Baltimore Symphony, National Philharmonic, National Symphony, City of London Sinfonia, and Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra, and has performed with conductors Leonard Slatkin, Marin Alsop, Mstislav Rostropovich, Piotr Gajewski, and Yoel Levi.
