  • Metro Lift is a new reduced fare program that offers 50% off Metrobus and Metrorail trips for local customers living in DC, Maryland, and Virginia and that are enrolled in SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). Metro Lift is designed to expand access, increase affordability, and advance equity for people across the region. Online enrollment for Metro Lift is now open!   

 

What is Metro Lift?

Metro Lift is a new reduced fare program that offers 50% off Metrobus and Metrorail trips for local customers living in DC, Maryland, and Virginia and that are enrolled in SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). Metro Lift is designed to expand access, increase affordability, and advance equity for people across the region.

Customers can also enroll in person at one of Metro's enrollment centers by making an appointment online or via phone at (202) 637-1328, Metro's Customer Relation's number. Enrollment centers are located at the following sites: L'Enfant Metro Headquarters, Metro Center Metro Station, and the New Carrollton Metro Office. Appointments are highly encouraged to avoid long waiting times.

Spread the word with our Community Toolkit—We are looking for our partners like you to help us spread the word about this impactful program. We created a "toolkit" with sample language and imagery that you can use in social media, newsletters, or list-servs.

We have posters available online in the following languages: Amharic, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), French, Korean, Somali, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Please let us know if you would like to receive any printed materials, such as brochures in English and Spanish, or information in additional languages, if you want an information table with Metro personnel to inform your clients about the program, or if you would like Metro to host an on-site enrollment "pop-up" site.
