The Special Education Youth Summer Social Skills Training Camp officially began on May 28th at the CCACC Academy. This program, which has been in preparation for over half a year, is jointly organized by the "Village Program" under the CCACC Health Center, the University of Maryland's College of Special Education, the Chinese American Parents Association's Equality Education Society, and community special education experts. The program brings together numerous social resources to provide free educational services for families with special education children, sharing the community resource network and alleviating parents' anxieties and concerns.

The program recruited 20 youth aged 4 to 14 with special needs. It consists of 6 sessions of training, offering a 1:2 ratio of instruction for special education children in areas such as emotional control and understanding and following rules. Dr. Veronica Kang, an associate professor from the University of Maryland's College of Special Education, secured research funding and recruited 9 university students who have undergone training to serve as instructors. CCACC Academy also assigned multiple teachers to provide full support, ensuring the smooth and efficient progress of the activities. The project received partial funding and venue support from the Asian American Health Initiative.
