We are excited to host best-selling author Lisa See for a book signing of her new novel "Lady Tan's Circle of Women' at the Chinese American Museum DC on Tuesday, June 20th, from 1:30 to 3 pm.
Lisa's book has just been announced as an Indie Next Pick for June. Indie Next Picks are chosen by independent booksellers from across the country.
The novel is based on a true story of a woman physician in 15th-century China. Tan Yunxian was born into an elite family, yet she was haunted by death, separations and loneliness.
In the novel, Yunxian learns about women's illnesses alongside a young midwife-in-training, Meiling. Yunxian and Meiling face many challenges and encounter the cycling of life and death, yin and yang, and good and evil.
