5.17.2023 CCACC Health Center successfully held the Health Fair Continuing medical checkup services

In May, for CCACC Health Center, it is Health Checkup Month and Disease Prevention Month. As a result, a small-scale Health fair was held at CCACC (Chinese Culture and Community Service Center) on last Friday (May 12th) from 1pm to 4pm. Nearly a hundred community members participated in health screenings, medical consultations, and health exhibitions. The purpose of this event was provide basic medical services to the community and help everyone develop good habits for disease prevention. Over the years, this fair has been highly effective. Additionally, the CCACC Health Center will continue to offer free medical check-ups and free blood tests until May 31st. Services provided during the Health Fair:

  • Health screenings: Blood pressure, blood sugar, body fat density, social health welfare screening, bone density screening, and other screenings.
  • Medical service exhibitions: Our community partner organizations, including
  • Chang Medicare Team (Federal Insurance and Supplemental Insurance)
  • Insured TY/355 Code_Tim Yang (Long-term Care Insurance Broker)
  • East West Wellness (Traditional Chinese Medicine Services)
  • HBI-DC (Hepatitis B Initiative of Washington, DC)
  • Continuum Healthcare Network (Alzheimer’s disease screening and counseling)

  • Blood tests and medical consultations: Medical Director of CCACC Health Center Dr. Yao-Yao Zhu, Nurse Practitioner, Ms.JiHyun Do, Dr.Yang Veronica Pei, and Occupational Therapist Ms.Cheryl Fong were present to provide medical consultations.   • Vaccination: We provided COVID-19 vaccines, pneumonia vaccines, and shingles vaccines to registered participants. Our next COVID-19 vaccination session is scheduled for June 9th. Please scan the QR code below or visit the website for more information:

CCACC Health Center still has a limited supply of pneumonia vaccines and shingles vaccines available for patients receiving medical services at our center. Interested individuals are welcome to call 240-393-5950 for inquiries regarding insurance matters.

 

Continue to provide free medical checkup services in May

In May, we will continue to provide free medical checkup services to residents of the community. The services will be free for individuals with insurance or participant in the Montgomery Cares Program, or $10 from uninsured or unable to participate in Montgomery Care Program.

If you do not have insurance but reside in Montgomery County, you can join the Montgomery Cares Program on-site at CCACC Health Center. By joining the program, you will be eligible for discounted healthcare services in here throughout the year, including a free annual checkup and a $25 fee per visit. Additionally, after a doctor’s consultation, you can receive free medication for chronic illnesses from the clinic’s pharmacy with a prescription.

Service recipients:

  • Community residents without a primary care physician or those who have not had a checkup in the past year (Visiting relatives staying in the United States are also welcome to use this service).

Fees:

  • Free: Individuals with insurance or patients in the Montgomery Cares Program.
  • Self-pay: Individuals who do not fall into the above categories but not undergone a health checkup for various are also welcome to participate in our services. The fee for blood tests is $10.

  • Blood test services: Registered participants can visit CCACC Health Center during the scheduled appointments for blood testing services.
  • Blood screening includes:
  • CBC (Complete Blood Count)- Includes hemoglobin, white blood cells, and platelets.
  • Lipid Panel-Measures cholesterol levels, triglycerides and other lipid components.
  • CMP (Comprehensive Metabolic Panel)- Assesses liver function, kidney function, and blood glucose levels.
  • Hepatitis B- Screening for hepatitis B surface antigen and antibodies, with free core antibody testing.
  • Diabetic patients can also opt for Hemoglobin A1c testing to monitor blood sugar levels.

 

  • Medical Consultations:

All blood test reports will be interpreted by physicians, and we will send the result to the patients’ provided address. If any issues are detected in the test results, we will contact the patients for further consultation. Uninsured individuals who register for Montgomery Cares Program will have the opportunity to receive free medical consultations with physicians.
