In partnership with Sandy Spring Theatre Group, Arts on the Green presents William Shakespeare's Long Lost First Play (abridged) by Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor. The recently discovered manuscript of Shakespeare's very first play, written in his own hand, shows all his most famous characters and familiar speeches in a brand-new story. However, because it's one hundred hours long and contains multiple unwieldy story lines, it has been abridged down to a brief 90 minutes. It's "Shakespeare as you've never imagined!" Recommended for ages 12 and up.
Walking with Shakespeare
Saturday, April 22, 1 to 4 p.m.
Observatory Park, 100 DeSellum Avenue.
$10, $5 Student (ages 18 and under)
Purchase tickets here.
Experience William Shakespeare's most celebrated plays as they come to life on this unique walking tour. Celebrate the Bard's 459th birthday with a stroll through the spring air. Meet traveling minstrels along the way as you travel past scenes from six Shakespearian comedies and tragedies. Each scene lasts approximately 10 minutes, and all pathways are accessible. Members of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), a medieval re-creation organization, will be on hand with demonstrations of music, weaving, calligraphy, and fencing. This program is recommended for ages 12 and older.
