Self-Care Journey Training Application for Youth is Open!

We are so excited to finally share the details of our upcoming event series! Self-Care Journey: A Four- Part Mental Health Advocacy Training will take place monthly during the spring semester, with a final event including parents/guardians of youth. During these events participants will learn coping skills for dealing with mental health, self care practices, while having fun with their AALEAD peers! In addition, youth will create their own strategy on how to cope with stress, build leadership skills and have the opportunity to earn up to 15 SSL hours. 

 

Guess what? We also wanted our AALEAD-er’s to know this event will offer up to $125 in gift cards for full participation along with AALEAD swag for our youth and AALEAD parents! We will also have special guest speakers for our youth to learn and connect with.

 

Requirements: 

- Be a Montgomery County resident and MCPS student (middle and high school) aged 12-18 years old

- For parent/caregiver: be a Montgomery County resident

- Identify self as Asian or Asian American Pacific Islander

 

To attend the event series, you need to fill out an application!

February 25, 9:30-2:30 PM (YOUTH)

March 4, 10:00-2:00 PM (YOUTH)

April 1, 10:00-2:00 PM (YOUTH)

May 28, 9:30-2:30 PM (YOUTH & PARENTS)
