Mandatory Training for Lead Organizations is January 23

Gaithersburg, MD (January 10, 2023) The City of Gaithersburg announces the availability of Fiscal Year 2024 School-Based Nonprofit Grants that address educational needs and provide quality, accessible and equitable services for City students.

Applications will be accepted for FY24 grants starting February 1. All applications must be submitted through an automated grant portal, accessible under "Community Services" at gaithersburgmd.gov. The application deadline is 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. The portal will be closed after that date and time.

Training on the grant program and use of the portal will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Please click here to register to receive the link to the virtual training. If you have any questions, please e-mail mary.armbruster@gaithersburgmd.gov. Training attendance is mandatory.

The City of Gaithersburg is seeking not for profit, 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1) agencies to partner with specific schools in the Gaithersburg area to apply for FY24 School-Based Nonprofit Grants. This grant program is designed to support qualifying agencies that provide school-based programming to City youth in partnership with an eligible Elementary (starting with Pre-K), Middle or High School.

The Gaithersburg Community Services Division reviews applications for technical compliance, after which they are submitted to the City’s Educational Enrichment Committees for evaluation. Award recommendations are submitted to the Mayor and City Council for funding consideration as part of the FY24 budget cycle.
