8.5.2022 Outdoor Screening of Matilda at City Hall Concert Pavilion

Gaithersburg, Md. (August 3, 2022) Celebrate the end of the first week of the new school year with a family outing to see the 1996 comedy, "Matilda" (PG). The outdoor screening takes place at the City Hall Concert Pavilion, 31 S. Summit Avenue in Olde Towne, on Saturday, September 3. The 95-minute movie starts at dusk (approximately 7:45 p.m.). Admission is free. Lawn chairs/blankets and movie snacks are welcome.

This classic movie centers on child prodigy Matilda Wormwood, who develops psychokinetic abilities and uses them to deal with both her disreputable family and Miss Trunchbull, the ruthless, oppressive, and tyrannical principal of Crunchem Hall Elementary School.

Parking in Olde Towne is free. Limited spaces are available at City Hall and at the Community Museum across the train tracks. Limited free parking is also available in the Parking Garage located across Summit Avenue at 112 Olde Towne Avenue.
