Gaithersburg, MD – (June 24, 2022) In partnership with Kensington Arts Theatre-2nd Stage, Gaithersburg Arts on the Green presents Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr. with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and book by Doug Wright. The show runs July 15 through 24, 2022, with performances on Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and Sundays at 1 and 3 p.m. The Arts Barn is located at 311 Kent Square Road. Kensington Arts Theatre-2nd Stage productions features youth performers ages 10 to 17. This show is recommended for ages five and older. Performance running time is 1 hour and 15 minutes.
In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home — and her fins — behind and live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he's been seeking.
