Day Kicks Off with All Ages 3K Run followed by 1K Fun Run
Gaithersburg, MD – (June 23, 2022) Explore all things sports as the City of Gaithersburg hosts SportsFest on Saturday, July 16, 2022, from 8 to 11 a.m. Youth entering grades K through 8 can participate in a variety of activities. The free event, which takes place rain or shine, will be held at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm, 506 S. Frederick Avenue.
The Gaithersburg Sports philosophy of participation over competition will be on display as the day kicks off with a 3K Run for all ages through Bohrer Park at 8 a.m. Registration is required for the 3K Run. Please note there is a fee for the 3K Run; all other activities are free. Following the 3K Run, a 1K Fun Run through Bohrer Park will be held at 8:30 a.m.
From 9 to 11 a.m., participants can test their skills in soccer, football, baseball, track and field, basketball, volleyball, and on an inflatable obstacle course, while visiting challenge stations located on the front field and inside the Activity Center.
T-shirts and prizes will be awarded for completing the challenges, while supplies last. "Coach G," the official Gaithersburg Sports mascot will also be in attendance.
Gaithersburg sports programs offer a variety of activities that encourage and support lifetime skills, personal interest and competition. Registration is currently open for summer camps and clinics and fall programs. Explore offerings here.
