At CCACC Academy, we are preparing for an exciting summer and have put together an outstanding lineup of camps and have added more camps to meet the suggestions parents have communicated as camps they would be interested in attending.
This Series we call “Did you Know” is to bring awareness to the camp suggested and the excellent instructors teaching them.
Did you know that Hanna-Barbera Productions is a studio that Created the Flintstones, Jetsons, and many other popular cartoons that heavily influenced many of the current famous cartoons of today? Ms. Jenette Harris is a December 2021 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts with a B.F.A in Communication Arts and a minor in Art History. She is currently a freelance artist and aspiring concept artist with a passion for all things entertainment. Jenette creates illustrations and designs from her home in Columbia. As a student, Jenette has worked as an art camp counselor, after-school art instructor, and personal art tutor for many youngsters looking to feed their creative spirit. Teaching a range of artistic skills, Jenette specializes in cartooning and digital art with an emphasis on imaginative storytelling.
In addition, as we are getting closer to the summer, CCACC Academy faculty members are getting ready to deliver more enriching and contemporary 1-week or 2-week summer camp sessions to ages 3 to 13 years from June 20-August 26. Our Summer Camp covers 56 courses of nine subject areas, i.e., Performance, STEM, Art, Multi-Interest, Future Leaders, Chinese, Movement, Early Education, and Academic. Did you know that your camper will be learning from a bunch of first-rate professional teachers and field experts?
Here are just a few in addition to Ms. Jenette Harris:
ACADEMIC
Ms. Lynne Lim has been an English Language teacher for over 20 years. Her professional history includes working with students from different cultural backgrounds in various primary and secondary schools in Singapore and the United States. She has taught English to students from different countries, e.g., Malaysia, China, France, Indonesia, the Philippines and the United States. She is currently teaching SAT English, Reading Comprehension and Writing Courses to students from Grades 5-12. Her SAT English class helps her students build a strong foundation in Reading and Writing to feel well-prepared and confident in taking the SAT when they are ready. In addition to our Summer Camp, Lynne is also a popular teacher for our Afterschool and Enrichment courses.
Ms. Vanessa Clark graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and French. After graduating in 2020 she moved to France for a year to be an English Teaching Assistant in a primary and secondary school. She thoroughly enjoys working with youths, especially in an academic setting. She is excited to further her teaching experience this summer at CCACC Academy!
MULTI-INTEREST
Mr. Matthew Chesky has years of experience teaching math, computer science, and chess at educational institutions. In addition to CCACC Academy summer camps, Matthew is also a popular math and STEM teacher at our Afterschool program. He holds an Associates Degree in Computer Science from Frederick Community College. Mr. Matthew Chesky is happy to bring his experience and expertise to CCACC Academy. In his free time he enjoys grand strategy games and game development.
FUTURE LEADER
Ms. Megan Herman has been teaching for eight years in Montgomery County Public Schools and is thrilled to be an Instructor at CCACC Academy Summer Camp and Afterschool programs. She attended Towson University and obtained an Elementary and Special Education degree; then, Loyola University Maryland for a Masters in Educational Leadership. She has held various positions at summer camps across Maryland in Arts and Crafts, STEM, and other activities. Working with and educating children is one of her passions.
ART
Ms. Elizabeth Drake is an undergraduate student studying Early Childhood Education and Special Education at the College of Education at the University of Maryland. She holds an Associate degree in Early Childhood and Special Education and an Advanced CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) Tutoring certification. Elizabeth has been supporting the growth and development of children through nannying, babysitting, and teaching for nearly nine years. Working to help others learn and smile has always been her main passion. This summer, Elizabeth is pleased to be working with you and your family as a camp instructor at CCACC Academy and looks forward to meeting everyone soon.
