Gaithersburg, MD (February 22, 2022) The City of Gaithersburg presents "Big, Bold and Beautiful IV," an exhibit featuring large two-dimensional works of art. The exhibit is on display February 22 through April 10, 2022, at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, 506 South Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg. Viewing hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. All visitors over the age of two must wear masks. Social distancing is encouraged. The public is invited to meet the artists at a reception on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 7 to 8 p.m.
With its expansive entrance and hallway, Bohrer Park's Activity Center provides the ideal location for an exhibit featuring large-scale artwork, allowing patrons to enjoy the pieces as they are meant to be seen in a sizable space. This year's exhibit features a wide-variety of subjects, including florals, landscapes, and abstracts. Mediums include acrylics, oils and photography. With curation assistance from Mary Weiss-Waldhorn, the exhibit is comprised of work selected from the annual call to artists as well as by invitation. Artists exhibiting include Donna Baron, Michael Brown, Craig Cavin, Stephen Dell'Aria, Hiral Joshi, Kristin Morrison, Orlando Morales, Raya Salman, Carol Starr, and Sunil Sukla.
