Gaithersburg, MD (January 26, 2022) The Benjamin Gaither Center (BGC) invites you to celebrate the Chinese New Year and International Mother Language Day with free celebrations open to the entire community. The BGC is located at 80-A Bureau Drive. Face masks are required inside all City facilities, and social distancing and limited capacity protocols are in place. Chinese New Year Celebration

Welcome the Year of the Tiger according to the Lunar New Year. Enjoy live performances of dance, music and songs. Light traditional refreshments will be served. All are welcome. This event is free, but pre-registration required. Register online here.
International Mother Language Day Celebration

Celebrate International Mother Language Day (which is actually February 21). Learn from friends and colleagues about their own mother tongue, the country, region or the area where the language is spoken, its origin, how many people speak the language, whether it is considered an endangered language, and more. Learn from each other and share your passion about your own mother tongue. All are welcome. Free, no registration necessary. The Benjamin Gaither Center serves residents of Gaithersburg and the surrounding area by offering a variety of classes, trips, special events, and activities for those 55 years of age and better.
