1.14.2022 Nonprofit and Education Grant Portal Opens February

Gaithersburg, MD (January 13, 2022) The City of Gaithersburg announces the availability of Fiscal Year 2023 Community Service and School-Based Nonprofit Grants that address the human service, educational and community needs of City residents.

Applications will be accepted for FY23 grants starting February 1. All applications must be submitted through an automated grant portal, accessible under "Community Services" at gaithersburgmd.gov. The application deadline is 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. The portal will be closed after that date and time.

Training on the use of the grant portal will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 10 a.m. Please email grants@gaithersburgmd.gov to receive the link to the virtual training. Training attendance is mandatory for lead organizations. Please contact us to share any questions or concerns.

Community Service grant applications are being sought from qualified 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1) not for profit organizations for services to City residents in the areas of Health and Mental Health, Food and Nutrition, Housing Stabilization Services, Vocational Counseling, Housing Preservation Services, Youth Mental Health, and Services for Seniors, Youth and/or Adults with Disabilities. 

The City of Gaithersburg is also seeking not for profit, 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1) agencies to partner with specific schools in the Gaithersburg area to apply for FY23 School-Based Nonprofit Grants. This grant program is designed to support qualifying agencies that provide school-based programming to City youth in partnership with an eligible Elementary (starting with Pre-K), Middle or High School.

The Gaithersburg Community Services Division reviews applications for technical compliance, after which they are submitted to the City's Community Advisory and Educational Enrichment Committees for evaluation. Award recommendations by these two committees are submitted to the Mayor and City Council for funding consideration as part of the FY23 budget cycle.
