10.22.2021 Arts Barn presents Improv for Public Speaking Master Class

Gaithersburg, MD (October 22, 2021) The Gaithersburg Arts Barn invites the community to take part in its newest Master Class, Improv for Public Speaking, on Tuesday, November 9 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Join local director and actor, Amy Benson, as she leads improvisation games that help build confidence and comfort presenting in front of an audience. Registration is $23, $20 for City of Gaithersburg residents. This Master Class is perfect for all levels of performance or public speaking experience and is recommended for ages 18 and older. Register online here. Face masks are required inside all City facilities, and social distancing and limited capacity protocols are in place.

Using improvisation, or unscripted theatre, as a foundation, participants in the Master Class will explore basic acting techniques while gaining confidence in their skills to present in front of an audience. The class includes games and creative risk taking exercises designed to help you feel more comfortable, confident, and relaxed on stage and in front of a crowd.

The Arts Barn is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. and at other times for those participating in facility programming.
