You are cordially invited to a special exhibit discussion of Wild Cranes with poet, Nirmal Ghosh, and the collaborative team, Liuyu Ivy Chen, Zhao Xu, and Tanya Ghosh.

Hear from the creators the inspiration and process behind the new special exhibit on display at the Chinese American Museum DC.

Wild Cranes is visual poetry and a reminder that despite our tribalism we are all human. It is a cross-cultural affirmation of the universal magic of chance, destiny, love, and time. Like the birds this collection is named after, Wild Cranes traversed half the planet. Washington-DC-based writer and global journalist Nirmal Ghosh, had his poetry translated into Mandarin by Liuyu Ivy Chen, a Chinese writer, poet, and translator transplanted to Atlanta, Georgia. The pieces were then rendered in traditional Chinese calligraphy by gifted Beijing-based artist Zhao Xu. Finally, they were transformed even further, into a luminous beauty, by New York-based photographer, artist, and global soul Tanya Ghosh.
