6.2.2021 The Grand Opening of CCACC Academy sets a New Milestone for CCACC

Chinese Culture and Community Service Center Academy (CCACC Academy) held its Grand Opening Ceremony on Saturday, May 22 in Rockville MD. As a part of the fundamentals, the principle of Liberal Arts and Science Education has been embraced in the establishment of CCACC Academy. Symbolizes as a new milestone for CCACC, it allows us not only to continue improving the existing service projects, but also to expand and explore new educational service areas.

The grand opening ceremony was hold on the morning of May 22nd. This was the first grand in-person event organized by CCACC in 14 months since the pandemic. Strictly following the current COVID regulations, the entire opening ceremony has been divided into two sessions, the outdoor opening ceremony and the indoor group tours, to ensure the safety of participants.

Since May is Asia American and Pacific Islanders Heritage Month, the opening of the CCACC Academy is particularly significant to the educational service of the Asian community.

With the cordial invitation from Mr. Chih-Hsiang Li, Executive Director of CCACC, more than 50 honored guests from various fields attended the ceremony. Among them, 9 guests were invited to give remarks at the opening ceremony, including Dr. Erika L. Moritsugu, the Deputy Assistant to the President and White House AAPI Senior Liaison; Maryland Senators Ms. Susan C. Lee, and Dr. Clarence K. Lam; Maryland State Delegate Lily Qi; Montgomery County Executive Mr. Marc Elrich; Dr. Judith Docca, member of Montgomery County Board of Education.

The guests expressed the congratulations to the grand opening of CCACC Academy for adding another platform to implement liberal arts education projects to serve children and families in the community! They also praised CCACC's impressive achievements in serving the community conscientiously in the past nearly forty years of providing education, healthcare, care for seniors and other community service.

During the indoor tour sessions, the guests were impressed by the strong faculty team, various educational programs, fully functional space and facilities. They believed that CCACC Academy would provide high-quality education services for the Greater Washington area, and build an international exchange platform for children’s culture, art, and education to promote Chinese culture.

The predecessor of CCACC Academy was Washington Cathay Future Center. The center was founded in 2015 and aims to provide students with high-quality education courses and a superior teaching environment. The school attaches great importance on staff training, facility improvement, curriculum design with the selection of talent courses. Established about 6 years ago, the center has served more than 1,767 families and 2,500 children in the Greater Washington area.

As we all know, CCACC is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the Greater Washington community. In the past few decades, CCACC has been committed to the development of diversified community services, providing various services for children, seniors, low-income, non-native English speakers, and any individuals in need. The development of youth education projects, the promotion of Liberal Arts and Science Education, and the cultivation of youth's morality, intelligence, physical and social skills have always been one of CCACC's missions in education services. After more than a year of comprehensive investigation, CCACC completed the acquisition of Washington Cathay Future Center in early May of this year. The establishment of CCACC Academy will undoubtedly enhance and strengthen CCACC's comprehensive capabilities in the education field, and continue to contribute to community cultural exchanges and inheritance.
