Detectives Investigate Shooting in Gaithersburg

Gaithersburg, Md. (August 9, 2020) Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department - Investigative Section are investigating a shooting that occurred on August 8, 2020, in Gaithersburg. At this time, this incident does not appear to be random in nature.

 

On Saturday, August 8, 2020, at approximately 10 p.m., officers from both the Gaithersburg Police and Montgomery County Police 6th District responded to the unit block of Montgomery Village Avenue for the report of a shooting. Responding officers located a 19-year-old male in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries and is expected to survive.
