Maryland State Delegate Lily Qi moderated a Webinar on Policing and Police Reform on the evening of 7/13 with over 100 people tuning in for an illuminating discussion. Montgomery County Chief of Police Marcus Jones, Councilmember Will Jawando, Elijah Wheeler, Executive Director of the Montgomery County Collaboration Council, Paul Li, Founder, Calvin J Li Memorial Foundation and Aryani Ong, Civil Rights Attorney and Activist participated. They discussed the meaning and concerns related to the calls for “defunding the police,” police training, no-knock warrants, school resource officers and new ways to engage the community. 

 
The webinar was organized in partnership with a group of Asian and Black community leaders. Co-sponsors included: 

Montgomery County Office of Community Partnerships, Chinese Culture and Community Service Center, Inc. (CCACC), Victims Rights Foundation, Historic Emory Grove Rotary Club (HEGRC), Organization of Chinese Americans-Greater Washington DC Chapter.
