City of Gaithersburg Update: Suspension of All But the Most Essential of Services, Facility Closures Extended to June 14
Gaithersburg, MD (May 27, 2020) The City of Gaithersburg is committed to adhering to the stringent guidelines necessary to help slow the spread of infection and to protect the health and safety of our residents and our employees. We are following guidance from the Governor’s Office and from the Montgomery County Health Department as we develop our Phased Service Restoration Plan, which will be announced to the public the week of June 8. The plan will be posted on the City’s website upon completion.
The situation is being monitored daily, with updates being made on the City’s website at www.gaithersburgmd.gov and on Facebook and Twitter @GburgMD. Gaithersburg has also established an Emergency Assistance and Community Support webpage, which is updated daily with resources and information for residents and businesses. A COVID-19 Dashboard with Gaithersburg-specific information is also available online.
The City will keep the following cancellations and modifications in place through at least June 14, 2020. Meanwhile, we urge you to continue to rely on trusted sources for the most up-to-date information about coronavirus, including what to do if you are experiencing symptoms. You’ll find the most current information on the Montgomery County Health and Human Services website.
Facilities
All City of Gaithersburg buildings remain closed to public access. Facilities are being prepared for employees to return to work, which will be followed by limited public access upon reopening. At this time, only City staff needed to perform essential and/or timely functions are being allowed in our buildings.
