2.3.2023 Esteemed Jazz Pianist Janelle Gill Performs at Gaithersburg Arts Barn

Gaithersburg, MD (January 27, 2023) Gaithersburg's Arts on the Green presents Janelle Gill on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the Arts Barn, 311 Kent Square Road. Concert begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30, $20 for youth ages 18 and under. The concert is sponsored by Hampton Inn & Suites. Purchase tickets here.

Esteemed pianist Janelle Gill brings her otherworldly jazz to the Arts Barn stage. Janelle began piano instruction at the age of five. As a middle school student, she was introduced to jazz by Delfeayo Marsalis when he performed a workshop at her school. Janelle continued her studies at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts with saxophonist Davey Yarborough and at Howard University under the tutelage of Dr. Raymond Jackson and Charles Covington.

Janelle can be found performing throughout the DC Metro area and beyond. She has performed with Oliver Lake, The Blackbyrds, Delfeayo Marsalis, David Murray, and many local artists. She can be heard on recordings by Kenny Rittenhouse, Mauro Marcondes, Kris Funn, and Will Smith.

Featured performers joining Janelle include Romeir Mendez (bass), Amadou Kouyate (kora), Jabari Exum (djembe), and Dana Hawkins (drums).
