We welcome individuals who have not yet learned to play the Guzheng (Chinese-Zither) to join us and experience the joy of playing this traditional instrument from scratch.

The introductory Guzheng course will be held from June 3rd to August 9th at our center headquarters located at 9366 Gaither Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20877. Classes will take place every Saturday afternoon from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM. The total cost for the twelve-week course is $80 for members ($120 for non-members). All tuition fees will be donated to the center for future development purposes.

The Guzheng produces beautiful and melodious sounds. Although it has twenty-one strings, it is easy for beginners to pick up, with no age restrictions. Following an accessible curriculum, students will quickly learn to play enchanting Guzheng melodies.

Ms. Li-Chan Huang, the instructor of the Guzheng Society, has dedicated many years to teaching Guzheng as a volunteer in the Washington DC area, actively promoting and popularizing the art of Guzheng. With over 40 years of experience and guidance from renowned masters in Hong Kong and mainland China, she brings a wealth of teaching expertise.

Students in the Guzheng class include students who learn during their free time to cultivate their interests, professionals from various industries who use the instrument to relax and relieve stress after work, and retirees who enrich their retired lives by learning the Guzheng. The class welcomes both men and women, people of all ages, and individuals from diverse backgrounds who come together to enjoy the instrument and share the joy it brings. For inquiries, please contact Ms. Huang. 703-821-7898 or email wonderfulduet@yahoo.com.
