About the Club

The Madison Chinese Dance Class hopes to provide a comfortable learning environment for students to learn traditional and ethnic Chinese dance while spreading Chinese culture to the community. We hope to create an appreciation for Chinese culture and dance and to bring both Chinese and Western art together.

Madison Chinese Dance Class is a part of The Madison Chinese Dance Academy, which was founded as a nonprofit organization in 1987. It has grown to become one of the Metropolitan Washington DC area’s largest dance teaching institution that emphasizes cultural enrichment through the art of Chinese dance and ballet. It further nourishes students' appreciation of Eastern and Western arts and cultures and builds students’ discipline and teamwork.

Every year, Madison Chinese Dance Academy holds its annual Splendid China dance concert at Montgomery College’s Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Center. The Academy also presents more than 20 dance performances at various occasions yearly as it works to educate the public about Chinese culture. Madison Chinese Dance Academy has been invited to perform across the country at various events including the White House Music Festival, Smithsonian Folklife Festival, Disney Epcot Center, and University of Wisconsin Windows to the World. It was one of the few arts groups invited to the World New Millennium Music and Dance Festival held in front of Giza Pyramid, Cairo.  

The Academy welcomes all interested people to its programs for a more harmonious and enjoyable society.
