About the Club

The CCACC Cantonese Opera Club was founded in 2001 by Liang Guo Keng. It aims to preserve and promote this traditional Chinese art. Cantonese Opera, with the honorary title of “Red Beans of the Southern Country” is a treasure within Chinese arts. Its melody and rhythm is elegant and beautiful and it is full of color and artistry. There are many opera lovers in the Washington area. Since its establishment, the Cantonese people in the area started singing Cantonese songs and Cantonese karaoke become popular, leading to the organization of an orchestra. Their goal is to improve their singing to a level where they can perform on stage. The club strives to hold a Washington area Canton opera karaoke competition.
